1960s, Quebec. Living with her mother Thérèse, a sad artist, is Agathe, a youngster with asthma. Her picture of a parallel universe where future travellers pass is fuelled by the constant sound of a train whistle at night. Agathe meets Frank, a young writer, while she is a teenager, and he assists her in bridging the gap between the present and the future.
